Village Description

The edifice of this village stands on the foundation of morale and ethics. As evident from its name, this village was formed during the reign of “King Cher” by segregating NINE CASTES (Nine Ratnas) i.e., Rajput, Bherihar, Ahir, Kaanu, Taili, Rastogi, Naee (Barber), Dosadh & Mochi from different parts of the country belonging to Hindu religion. All the Rajput residents of this village are “Somvanshi” This village is situated at a distance of about 35 kilometers north-east from Chhapra. It is well connected to its District Chhapra by Road transports. All types of Road Transport facilities are available for the public at large from 0400 hours to 1800 hours at very reasonable fare. Moreover, a number of vehicles are available 24x7 in the village on hire basis. This village is well known for its close, harmonial and congenial relationship with one another and with neighbouring villages. Barring a few unreported petty incidents, this village is free from all sorts of crime. Inhabitants of this village are kindhearted and helpful in nature. They always extend their shoulders to share the burden of one another. More than 60% of male population of village are employed in various public and private sectors like Central Government, State Government of Bihar & Jharkhand, HEC, Central Bureau of Investigation, Bajaj Allianz, Airtel, HCL etc. This village has shown abrupt increase in literacy rate from 53% to 69%.
